Aposentillo is a coastal destination in the Chinandega Department of Nicaragua, famous for its beautiful and relatively undeveloped beaches, offering excellent and diverse surfing conditions for all levels, including longboard-friendly waves.
Located north of Chinandega, the area is part of Nicaragua's Pacific coast, providing picturesque scenery, tranquility, and a laid-back lifestyle for visitors and locals alike.
Enjoy the perfect blend of movement, adventure, and connection on a 40-acre point reaching out into the Pacific ocean, dividing two beautiful beaches. There's magic that stems from Amaru's eden which can be found among their gardens, yoga and massage shalas, and other unique structures.
The name Amaru is a mythological double headed serpent which represents balance, transformation, and creative power. It reminds us that we can direct both our inner and outer energies with intention and purpose through observation of the elemental changes around us.

Start your day with morning meditation, a beach walk or hike, jump into the ocean or pool, or a cup of coffee in a hammock or many of the tranquil spaces of Amaru. Daily yoga (2x/day) in a tranquil open-aired yoga shala, gourmet farm to table meals, activity options galore, or enjoy a book and some time for yourself!

*in the event of flight delay or cancellation that would cause you to miss your transport, the guest is responsible for covering the cost of the change transport.
Flight Cancellation and Delay Policies: We strongly encourage you to have travel insurance to cover any delays or cancellations during your journey to Amaru. This ensures you are not responsible for the fees charged by the private transport company for any delays. Our transport company requires a 5-hour advance notice if your flight is canceled or changed to avoid making the journey from Chinandega unnecessarily.
YOGA
Hidden in the Canopy of the Banyan trees, the Yoga Shala is truly a sacred sanctuary of peace and tranquility. With views of two different beaches, great airflow, and the sound of crashing waves, the yoga shala is the perfect place to challenge yourself while connecting with your inner peace. We will start our days with a power yoga class then a late afternoon flow & restore, meditation or workshop with Shawna. Mats and props available.
MEDITATION
Meditation is not about clearing your mind completely. It’s not about sitting perfectly still, or having only peaceful thoughts. It’s not about being “good” at it.
It’s about showing up — for yourself, for this moment, just as you are.
Morning Sunrise meditations with Shawna. You will learning different breathing exercises, walking meditations, and create tools to guide you deeper into your meditation practice. If you don't have one- this is a perfect setting to start one. Showing up for yourself also includes sleeping in when your body needs it. The sun will rise, and I will be on the beach for whomever wants to join me!
SURF
Similar to yoga, the ocean has this way of humbling you and lifting you up at the same time. Surfing isn’t just a sport—it’s a way to connect, let go, and discover what you’re capable of. If you have ever been curious about surfing, this is your opportunity to try as Amaru has a surf school. This is completely optional but available to you if you want to challenge yourself!
AMARU will meet you where you are, even if that’s the sand!
FOOD
Private chefs at Amaru will create delicious, fresh and healthy meals- prepared with locally-grown produce and herbs. (v, V, GF, DF) options available.
3-daily meals are included in price of trip (except for breakfast only on check out day, May 2nd.)
